INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

The Educational Policy and Management Office and the International Relations and Cooperation Department are responsible for international student admissions at Etugen University.

For admission to Etugen University, a foreign national must have completed an education equivalent in both subject and standard to the education system in Mongolia.

The admission period for all study programs will be from May 1 to November 20 annually.

The fall semester commences in September, whereas the spring semester starts in January-February.

Applicants for bachelor's and master’s degree must prepare and submit the following documents to the Educational Policy and Mangement Department:

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Application Form
  • Passport (original), copy of it
  • Certificate of Secondary Education, diploma (with a copy)
  • 3x4 size photo

Upon admission, the following documents must be submitted:

  1. Secondary education certificate, as well as attachment of diplomas of all levels (original copy, notarized copy, official copy translated into Mongolian and notarized)
  2. Be registered with the Ministry of Education of the country where you studied
  3. Application Form
  4. A notarized copy of a foreign passport (translated into Mongolian, must be valid for at least 6 months)
  5. Health Certificate and medical examination letter (AIDS, hepatitis B and C virus, syphilis, and tuberculosis tests were completed within the last 3 months)
  6. 8 3x4 size photocopies (taken within the last 6 months)
  7. Recommendation Letter from the professor (applicable to Master's and Doctoral students, written in English and translated into Mongolian)
  8. Language Exam Score Certificate (Mongolian or English)
  9. Study contract with Etugen University
  10. Tuition payment proof
  11. Resume/Essay

Student Visa and Residency Permit: An international student must get authorization to study at Etugen University before entering Mongolia.

Student visas for international students can only be obtained by an invitation from the University and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of Mongolia.

To receive an invitation, fill out the completed form and e-mail it to Etugen University’s International Relations and Cooperation Department, along with a copy of your passport (international@etugen.edu.mn).

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science will issue study permission, and the Immigration Agency of Mongolia will provide a visa to enter Mongolia under the category of study permit.

To gain entry into Mongolian territory, you must submit an application for a single entry study (student) visa subsequent to receiving an invitation to study from the university.

The university requires the following documents to be compiled and submitted to international@etugen.edu.mn in order to issue a visa invitation (permit)

  1. Visa Application Form (download link: https://immigration.gov.mn)
  2. Passport copy (including the page with photo)
  3. A copy of the academic credential and diploma that has been notarized and translated into Mongolian
  4. Financial Guarantee (Financial guarantee offered by an entity or individual in charge of international student’s tuition and living expenses)  

Above documents will be forwarded to the Immigration Agency of Mongolia in order to apply for a visa. The Immigration Agency of Mongolia will issue a visa permission to enter Mongolia and forward it to the Mongolian Consulate in your home country. International students, therefore, must advise us in advance of the country they will be receiving a Mongolian visa from.

An international student must register with the University’s International Relations and Cooperation Department Office within one day of arriving in Mongolia, and at the Immigration Agency of Mongolia within 48 hours (https://immigration.gov.mn).

Within 21 days of entering the country, an international student must apply to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Immigration Agency of Mongolia for a residency permit.

List of documentation that the student must proved to the Immigration Agency of Mongolia in order to get a residency permit:

  • Official university request and other documents required for visa authorization
  • Ministry of Education, Culture and Science study permit
  • District residency verification letter from the district authority
  • A passport copy and the registration form (The passport must be valid for at least 180 days)
  • Other required documents (contract, rector's order, confirmation of tuition fees, etc.)
  • A copy of the power of attorney or workplace ID issued by the University to the requesting employee
  • A stamp marking the date of entry into Mongolian territory on the passport page
  • A 3.5х4.5 color photo taken within the last 180 days
  • Proof of stamp duty payment
