On April 16–17, 2026, a delegation from Baikal State University (Irkutsk, Russia), led by Dr. Prof. Sanina Lyudmila Valeryevna, Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, paid an official visit to Etugen University.

Within the framework of the visit, Academician S. Nyamzagd, Chairman of the Board of Directors, officially received the delegation. During the meeting, he outlined the university's development policies and strategic objectives, and exchanged views on strengthening bilateral ties and defining future avenues of cooperation. Furthermore, the delegation was guided on a tour of the university's second campus building to observe its operations.
The meeting was also attended by officials from Etugen University, including B. Orgilmaa, Deen of the School of Humanities; L. Gurbazar, Senior Manager of the International Relations Department; and Specialists E. Altantsetseg and S. Bayartsetseg.

Additionally, Dr. B. Batsereedene, Rector of Etugen University, along with Dr. Ts. Munguntsetseg, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and other relevant officials, officially received the delegation. During the meeting, they presented the university's structure and programs, and discussed the core pillars of future cooperation, which include:

• Implementing Student and Faculty Exchange Programs
• Launching Joint Research and Development Projects
• Fostering Institutional and Faculty-Level Collaboration
• Organizing Knowledge-Sharing Visits
• Developing Long-Term Strategic Partnerships
  

Both parties emphasized that this cooperation will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of education, research, and training. In particular, they highlighted its strategic importance in elevating academic collaboration in the fields of economics and management to a whole new level.

Within the framework of the visit, an official meeting was held at the management level between Baikal State University, and the Department of Economics, Management of the School Humanities, to exchange views on expanding research initiatives and multifaceted cooperation. The meeting was attended by O. Tserenbazar, Head of the Department of Economics, Management; N. Otgonbayar, faculty member; and other relevant department representatives.

On April 17, 2026, a milestone event took place as Etugen University and Baikal State University officially signed a 5-year Strategic Cooperation Plan (2026–2030). Aimed at fostering mutually beneficial academic and educational partnership, the agreement was formally validated during a signing ceremony by Dr. B. Batsereedene, Rector of Etugen University, and Dr. Prof. L.V. Sanina, Vice-Rector of Baikal State University..

The comprehensive roadmap outlines key cooperation targets across following areas:

• Expanding student and faculty exchange programs
• Launching joint Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs
• Conducting joint research projects
• Co-publishing in high-impact journals
• Establishing an ISBN-registered academic journal
• Hosting international conferences and seminars
• Supporting faculty enrollment in Doctoral and Ph.D. programs
  

Both institutions underscored that this strategic roadmap is highly significant for cementing long-term institutional ties, expanding international footprints, and advancing collaborative education and research in the disciplines of economics, social sciences, and business administration.

As part of the visit, the dignitaries also toured Etugen University’s campus, inspecting the academic facilities, specialized research laboratories, the library, the student development center, and sports complexes, while engaging in insightful discussions with faculty members and students.
