As part of the cooperative agreement between Etugen University and Ningxia Medical University in the People's Republic of China, a delegation of 24 faculty members, staff, and students from our university successfully participated in a 14-day international summer school held at the host institution between July 13-26, 2026.

 Funded by the Chinese Government Scholarship program, the summer school was organized under the theme "Industry of the Yellow River Basin, Traditional Chinese Medicine Diotherapy, and Healthcare Regimen."

Over the course of two weeks, participants engaged in a comprehensive curriculum blending theory and practice, gaining multifaceted knowledge and hands-on experience:

• Traditional Medicine and Innovation: Participants explored the fundamental theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), learned diagnostic methods such as inspection, auscultation, interrogation, and pulse diagnosis ("Look, Listen, Ask, Feel"), practiced Baduanjin qigong exercises, and examined cutting-edge applications integrating artificial intelligence with medicine.
• Theoretical and Practical Training: The delegation visited the university campus, medical laboratories, clinical training centers, TCM herbal specimen museums, anatomical museums, and botanical gardens to gain firsthand insight into the research and educational environment.
• Regional Industry and Environmental Conservation: Alongside exploring ecological conservation and water conservancy projects along the Yellow River Basin, participants studied the history and therapeutic benefits of Ningxia's renowned goji berries (wolfberries) and grapes, as well as production and business practices tied to these regional industries.
• Language and Cultural Programs: Attendees took introductory conversational Mandarin classes to build everyday communication skills while engaging in cultural workshops featuring traditional Chinese and dragon dances to closely experience local history and culture.

This training program not only enriched the knowledge and insights of our faculty and students but also served as a vital catalyst for expanding international cooperation.

During the program, official meetings were held with the leadership of the International Education School at Ningxia Medical University. Both sides exchanged proposals on future collaborations, including inviting researcher-lecturers specializing in traditional medicine neurology to Etugen University as visiting professors, developing joint research projects, and further expanding faculty and student exchange initiatives.

 Etugen University continues to successfully implement its policy of broadening foreign relations and cooperation while regularly engaging its faculty and students in high-quality international programs that meet global standards.
